BADMINTON England is the sport's governing body in England. Based at the National Badminton Centre in Milton Keynes, it provides a structure for the sport from Board and Council, senior management, specialist staff at headquarters, county associations and clubs right the way through to individual members and volunteers.

Durham University is working in partnership with BADMINTON England to increase participation at Durham and Queen's Campus, in line with the development plans of Durham City Community Badminton Network and Stockton on Tees Community Badminton Network. This includes working with students, staff and the local community to ensure that there is a player pathway in the University and opportunities across all ages and abilities at Durham University. Regional managers have been working closely with Durham University Badminton Club to launch projects, increase student coaches and volunteers, and assist in development opportunities.
